Triphenylphosphine oxide–3-chlorobenzoic acid (1/1)
Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2003In the title compound, C(18)H(15)OP.C(7)H(5)ClO(2), the triphenylphosphine oxide molecule forms a single directed hydrogen bond with the 3-chlorobenzoic acid molecule, with an O.O=P distance of 2.607 (2) A. The C-Cl and C=O bonds adopt a cisoid conformation in the 3-chlorobenzoic acid molecule.

Biodegradation of 3-chlorobenzoate by Pseudomonas putida 10.2
World Journal of Microbiology & Biotechnology, 1996Pseudomonas putida 10.2, a 3-chlorobenzoate (3CBa)-degrading bacterium, was isolated from a soil sample obtained from an agricultural area in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This bacterium could degrade 2MM 3CBa very rapidly with the concomitant formation of chloride ion when grown in mineral salt-yeast extract medium.

Pseudomonas sp. CBS3 was grown with 4-chlorobenzoate as sole source of carbon and energy. Freshly prepared cell-free extracts converted 4-chlorobenzoate to 4-hydroxybenzoate. After storage for 16 hours at 25 degrees C only about 50% of the initial activity was left.

Isolation and characterization of a 3-chlorobenzoate degrading pseudomonad
Archives of Microbiology, 1974A pseudomonad has been isolated from sewage, which can utilize 3-chlorobenzoic acid as a sole carbon source. In cells grown on benzoate the enzymes of the β-ketoadipic acid pathway are present. Considerable enzymic activities for chlorinated substrates were found in benzoate grown cells only for the oxygenation of 3-chlorobenzoate and the ...

Degradation of chlorobenzoates and chlorophenols by methanogenic consortia
, 1999Pollution of the environment with chlorinated organic compounds mainly results from (agro)industrial activity. In many studies, biodegradation is examined under anaerobic conditions, because highly chlorinated compounds are more easily degradable under ...

Laser jet spectra of methyl 3-chlorobenzoate
Journal of Molecular Structure, 2004Abstract The (1+1) REMPI spectrum and the fluorescence excitation spectrum of methyl 3-chlorobenzoate were measured in the supersonic free jet. In the fluorescence excitation spectrum, only one strong 0–0 band along with a few vibronic bands was observed although this compound has two stable conformers.
