Determination And Characterization Of Chlorophenols
Chlorophenols, which have been classified as priority pollutants by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and are known to have environmental and health effects. They are also suspected to be carcinogenic to humans. Considerable research efforts are constantly being devoted to the development of ways to monitor chlorophenols.

Chlorophenols in digested U.K. sewage sludges
This paper describes a method developed for the analysis of chlorophenols in liquid sewage sludges. After a comparison of different extraction procedures, wet sludge extraction with a solvent mixture of hexane and isopropyl alcohol was selected.

Removal of chlorophenols from synthetic solutions using Phanerochaete chrysosporium
The potential use of the fungus Phanerochaete chrysosporium to remove chlorophenols (phenol, o-chlorophenol, p-chlorophenol and 2,4,6-trichlorophenol) from aqueous solutions was evaluated.

Desorptive behavior of chlorophenols in contaminated soils
A study was conducted to assess the desorptive behavior of chlorophenols in contaminated soils. Two soils spiked with three types of chlorophenols, i.e., 2,6-dichlorophenol (DCP), 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (TCP), and pentachlorophenol (PCP), respectively ...

Anaerobic transformation of chlorophenols in methanogenic sludge unexposed to chlorophenols
Chemosphere, 2000Transformation of all 19 chlorophenol (CP) isomers was investigated in a laboratory anaerobic methanogenic sludge that had not been exposed to synthetic chemicals. Concentration of CP was analyzed over time to calculate disappearance rate constants using first-order reaction kinetics and all possible CP degradation pathways were estimated.

Chlorophenol Exposure in Sawmills
American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1985Personnel exposures to chlorophenols were measured in ten Finnish sawmills where a chlorophenolate salt formulation was used for the blue stain control of sawed wood. The concentrations of chlorophenols in the air were usually well below the occupational limit value of 0.5 mg/m3. However, high concentrations (above 10 mg/m3) were measured inside heated

The transformation of chlorophenols by lactoperoxidase
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 1985The lactoperoxidase-catalyzed transformations of penta-,2,3,4,6-tetra-, 2,4,6-tri-, 2,4-di- and 4-monochlorophenol were followed spectrophotometrically. Apparent stoichiometries of chlorophenol:H2O2 ranged from 1:1 for the tri- and tetrachlorophenol at pH7 to 5:2 for pentachlorophenol at pH 4.

Function Analysis of Chlorophenol Monooxygenase for Chlorophenol Degradation
Advanced Materials Research, 20144-Chlorophenol is well-known as an extensively used antiseptic, and it may cause severe damage to the environment and human health. 4-Chlorophenol can be biologically degraded by Arthrobacter chlorophenolicus A6, which can be attributed to the cphC-I and cphB genes of the microorganism that encode for a two-component flavin-diffusible monooxygenase (TC-

Letters in Applied Microbiology, 1995
A Gram-negative aerobic bacterium capable of using 2-chlorophenol (2-CP), 3-chlorophenol (3-CP) and 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) as sole carbon sources was isolated and characterized. The bacterium, designated LD1, was identified to be a Pseudomonas pickettii strain. LD1 was able to totally degrade and dechlorinate 2-CP (initial concentration: 1.51 mmol l-1),
