Update of the risk assessment on dioxins and dioxin‐like PCBs in feed and food
Abstract The European Commission asked EFSA to update its 2018 risk assessment on polychlorinated dibenzo‐p‐dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) and dioxin‐like polychlorinated biphenyls (DL‐PCBs) in feed and food, based on the 2022 WHO Toxic Equivalency Factors (WHO2022‐TEFs).

Photodegradation of phenol and chlorophenols by photofenton process mediated by ferrioxalate
The influence of some operational parameters such as stirring the solution during solar irradiation and the solution flow rate into artificial irradiation photoreactor were evaluated on the photodegradation of 2-chlorophenol (2CP) and 2,4-diclorophenol ...

This paper by Kollár et al. reports a covalent fragment linking study against the SARS‐CoV‐2 main protease (3CLPro). Beginning with inactive fragment hits, the application of rational linker design enabled the generation of reversible covalent inhibitors exhibiting low micromolar potency. The study details some general limitations and best practices of

Achieving Near‐Complete Dechlorination of Poly(vinyl chloride) via Electrochemical Reduction
A one‐pot controlled‐voltage electrolysis achieved up to 97% dechlorination of poly(vinyl chloride) using common plasticizers as redox mediators. The liberated chloride ions were oxidized at the anode and utilized in a subsequent arene chlorination, offering a route for repurposing the chlorine from PVC.

Water pollution has become a major environmental concern due to industrial, agricultural, and urban activities that release various pollutants into freshwater systems. ZnO‐based photocatalysis is an effective strategy for organic pollutant degradation, but its performance is limited by rapid electron–hole recombination and weak adsorption capacity ...
