The MdHB7L–MdICE1L–MdHOS1 Module Fine‐Tunes Apple Cold Response via CBF‐Dependent and CBF‐Independent Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In early cold response, MdICE1L utilizes MdHB7L as a cofactor to facilitate the transcriptional activation of MdCBFs, thereby activating cold signaling rapidly and strongly. Subsequently, MdICE1L is degraded by MdHOS1. Meanwhile, MdHB7L is released and accumulates.

Living Biotherapeutics Using Nanoparticles‐Armed Cyanobacteria for Boosting Photodynamic‐Immunotherapy of Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A schematic illustration of the cyanobacteria‐based biohybrid platform for photodynamic cancer therapy enhanced PDT. The platform continuously outputs O2 (to alleviate tumor hypoxia) and 1O2 (for tumor treatment), achieving improved photodynamic immunotherapy. Abstract The interdisciplinary development of synthetic biology and material sciences propels

Comparative assessment of satellite‐ and drone‐based vegetation indices to predict arthropod biomass in shrub‐steppes

open access: yesEcological Applications, Volume 32, Issue 8, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Arthropod biomass is a key element in ecosystem functionality and a basic food item for many species. It must be estimated through traditional costly field sampling, normally at just a few sampling points. Arthropod biomass and plant productivity should be narrowly related because a large majority of arthropods are herbivorous, and others ...

Variability of nutrients and chlorophyll a in Ancão Inlet during a spring tidal cycle in April 2009

open access: yesCiencias Marinas, 2011
São Luis or Ancão Inlet is the most western of the six inlets of the Ria Formosa lagoon, in southern Portugal. This inlet contributes relatively little to the water volume exchange over a tidal cycle (~10%).

Precision‐Guided Stealth Missiles in Biomedicine: Biological Carrier‐Mediated Nanomedicine Hitchhiking Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Diagram illustrating the binding methods of NPs and biological barriers. The biological carrier‐mediated nanomedicine hitchhiking strategy (BCM‐NHS) utilizes two distinct techniques: the surface‐based “Backpack” method, which relies on ligand‐receptor binding, covalent conjugation, and non‐covalent binding, and the encapsulated “Trojan horse” approach,

Anthocyanin and Chlorophyll Content in Flush as Selection Markers on Fine Flavor Cocoa (Theobroma Cacao L.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Level of anthocyanin content in flush is different between fine flavor cocoa and bulk cocoa. This study was aimed to determine the potential of anthocyanin and chlorophyll content in flush as one of the selection indicator for fine flavor cocoa.

Electronic Nanomaterials for Plants: A Review on Current Advances and Future Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Global food security faces mounting challenges from climate change and rapid population growth. This review highlights the pivotal role of electronic nanomaterials–including metals, metal oxides, and carbon‐based structures–in enhancing plant photosynthesis, nutrient uptake, and stress resilience. Furthermore, it explores how emerging platforms such as

Substrate size modifies stream grazer–biofilm interactions in the presence of invertivorous fish

open access: yesEcology, Volume 103, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract When herbivore abundance is controlled by predators there may be an indirect positive effect on primary producers due to reduced grazing pressure, but the potential of predation refuges to modify such trophic cascades has rarely been studied.

Mesoscale variability of the Mexican Tropical Pacific using TOPEX and SeaWiFS data

open access: yesCiencias Marinas, 2006
The Mexican Tropical Pacific has oligotrophic characteristics; however, it sustains an abundant biodiversity, mainly because of upwelling promoted by its relatively shallow thermocline, strong winds and mesoscale eddies.
