Insights into the effects of reproductive phase thermal stress on physiology and yield‐related traits of rice cultivars

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract High temperatures lead to a significant drop in rice (Oryza sativa L.) productivity worldwide, especially during the reproductive stage. This research was piloted to evaluate 10 promising rice cultivars for their ability to withstand high‐temperature stress (HS) during the reproductive phase and to assess the impact on physiology and yield ...

Growth and yield response of cassava varieties (Manihot esculenta Crantz) to nitrogen fertilization across contrasting agroecology in Southern Ethiopia

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) plays a crucial role in mitigating food problems; however, its productivity is affected by low soil fertility, especially nitrogen deficiency, which is a major constraint to crop growth and yield. The study aimed to evaluate the effects of nitrogen fertilizer and cassava varieties on the agro‐morphological ...

Genetic variability, heritability, and trait associations for growth and yield characters in kola [Cola nitida (Vent) Schott. & Endl.]

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Genetic enhancement of crop plants such as kola [Cola nitida (Vent) Schott. & Endl.] can be made effective and efficient via estimates of genetic parameters. Our study evaluated genetic parameters to provide insights into heritable variability and character associations in kola to guide variety development.

Climate change impacts on global wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production: A comprehensive meta‐analysis of stressors, risks, and adaptation strategies

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Climate change is exerting profound and multidimensional pressures on global wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production. Rising temperatures, higher vapor pressure deficit, and more frequent heatwaves reduce yields through strong, phenology‐dependent effects, with flowering and grain filling identified as the most vulnerable stages. Compound heat–

Polypyrrole‐Coated Hierarchical 3D Printed Graphene Electrodes for Reusable High‐Performance Biophotovoltaic System

open access: yesEcoMat, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
A 3D‐printed polypyrrole/reduced graphene oxide (PPy/rGO) lattice anode with high porosity enhances biophotovoltaic (BPV) power density and current density by coordinating biofilm adhesion, light penetration, and endogenous mediator diffusion. Optimized PPy electropolymerization maximizes photocurrent and cell–electrode affinity.
