A behavioral perspective on social choice
Annals of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, 2013We discuss what behavioral social choice can contribute to computational social choice. An important trademark of behavioral social choice is to switch perspective away from a traditional sampling approach in the social choice literature and to ask inference questions: Based on limited, imperfect, and highly incomplete observed data, what inference can

Driver route choice behavior: Experiences, perceptions, and choices
2010 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium, 2010Within the context of transportation modeling, driver route choice is typically captured using mathematical programming approaches, which assume that drivers, in attempting to minimize some objective function, have full knowledge of the transportation network state.

Inconsistent behavior in lottery choice experiments
Behavioral Science, 1967College students made choices in binary lottery situations involving small amounts of money-payoffs ranged from $2.50 to -$1.00. Each of 52 subjects made 150 choices. Any of a number of choice models might be used to describe the outcome of such an experiment.

Eye movement data has been extensively utilized by researchers interested in studying decision-making within the strategic setting of economic games. In this paper, we demonstrate both a deep learning and traditional machine learning classification method which are able to accurately identify a given participant's decision strategy before they commit ...

Nutritional and behavioral regulators of choice behavior
Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences, 2016Added sugar, often consumed in the form of sweetened beverages, is currently labeled as a big evil that increases our risk to develop obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes. Only a few decades ago, however, saturated fat received a similar negative label.
