Microsomal CTP: choline phosphate cytidylyltransferase: kinetic mechanism of fatty acid stimulation [PDF]

open access: bronzeBiochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1991
Fatty acids are known to cause an increase in the incorporation of radioactive choline into phosphatidylcholine. A coincident increase in membrane cytidylyltransferase activity is well documented. The purpose of the present studies was to determine the direct effects of oleic acid on the kinetic properties of membrane cytidylyltransferase.

Evidence for a regulatory role of CTP : Choline phosphate cytidylyltransferase in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine in fetal lung following premature birth [PDF]

open access: greenBiochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1981
The sequence of reactions which function to incorporate choline into phosphatidylcholine was investigated in lung from fetuses following premature delivery. The rate of [methyl-14C]choline incorporation by rat lung slices into phosphatidylcholine increases following premature delivery at both 20 and 21 days gestation.

Effect of choline-phosphate cytidylyltransferase gene (pcyt-1) expression on departure of pine wood nematode,Bursaphelenchus xylophilus(Nematoda: Aphelenchoididae), fromMonochamus alternatus(Coleoptera:Cerambycidae) [PDF]

open access: gold, 2020
AbstractIn order to study the causes of pine wood nematodes (PWN),Bursaphelenchus xylophilusdeparture from its vector beetle,Monochamus alternatus, we collected PWNs which were extracted from the newly emergedM. alternatusand the 7d after emergence beetles.

Maternal administration of dexamethasone stimulates choline-phosphate cytidylyltransferase in fetal type II cells [PDF]

open access: greenBiochemical Journal, 1987
Administration of dexamethasone to pregnant rats at 19 days gestation increased phosphatidylcholine synthesis (45%) from radioactive choline in type II cells. This enhanced synthesis of phosphatidylcholine was accompanied by an increased conversion of choline phosphate into CDP-choline.

Identification of a protein complex between choline-phosphate cytidylyltransferase and a 112-kDa protein in rat liver.

open access: hybridJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1993
Antisera raised against purified cytidylyltransferase (CT) immunoprecipitated CT activity from liver cytosol and detected the M(r) 45,000 subunit of CT on Western blots. Antisera detected a M(r) 112,000 protein on Western blots of liver cytosol. This protein was not detected in purified CT and was not detected by preimmune serum. The 112-kDa antibodies,

The cellular mechanism of glucocorticoid acceleration of fetal lung maturation. Fibroblast-pneumonocyte factor stimulates choline-phosphate cytidylyltransferase activity.

open access: hybridJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1986
The cellular mechanism by which glucocorticoids stimulate phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis has been studied in the fetal rat lung in vivo and in cultured fetal rat lung cells of varying levels of complexity. Administration of dexamethasone to pregnant rats at 18 days gestation resulted in a significant increase in saturated phosphatidylcholine content ...

Control of phosphatidylcholine synthesis in Hep G2 cells. Effect of fatty acids on the activity and immunoreactive content of choline phosphate cytidylyltransferase.

open access: hybridJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1991
We examined the effect of fatty acids on phosphatidylcholine synthesis and cytidylyltransferase activity in Hep G2 cells. Treatment of Hep G2 cells with oleic acid caused an increase in the incorporation of [methyl-14C]choline into phosphatidylcholine and a corresponding decrease in radioactivity in choline phosphate using a pulse-chase procedure. This

Glucocorticoid induction of fatty-acid synthase mediates the stimulatory effect of the hormone on choline-phosphate cytidylyltransferase activity in fetal rat lung

open access: hybridBiochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1990
Fetal lung fatty-acid synthase and choline-phosphate cytidylyltransferase activities are increased by glucocorticoids. There is evidence that the hormone increases synthesis of fatty-acid synthase but only increases the catalytic activity of the cytidylyltransferase.

Lactose-Derived Carbohydrates Induce Sexually Dimorphic Nutritional Programming Effects on Lifespan in Drosophila melanogaster. [PDF]

open access: yesAging Cell
Early‐life co‐consumption of galactose and glucose (hydrolyzed lactose) programs Drosophila melanogaster lifespan in a sex‐specific manner. Particularly, the co‐consumption of galactose and glucose programs extended lifespan when female flies were challenged by obesogenic diets later in life, and this is concomitant with remodeling of lipid metabolism,
