Evidence that the Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron chondroitin lyase II gene is adjacent to the chondro-4-sulfatase gene and may be part of the same operon [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1987
The chondroitin lyase II gene from Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron has previously been cloned in Escherichia coli on a 7.8-kilobase (kb) fragment (pA818). In E. coli, the chondroitin lyase II gene appeared to be expressed from a promoter that was about 0.5 kb from the beginning of the gene.

Comparative Genomic Hybridization Analysis of Yersinia enterocolitica and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis Identifies Genetic Traits to Elucidate Their Different Ecologies. [PDF]

open access: yesBiomed Res Int, 2015
Enteropathogenic Yersinia enterocolitica and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis are both etiological agents for intestinal infection known as yersiniosis, but their epidemiology and ecology bear many differences. Swine are the only known reservoir for Y.

CURRENT ASPECTS OF THE ROLE OF GLYCOSAMINOGLYCANS OF THE EXTRACELLULAR MATRIX IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF GENERALIZED PERIODONTITIS AND THE COURSE OF REPAIR PROCESSES

open access: yesПраці Наукового товариства імені Шевченка. Медичні науки, 2017
The prevalence of periodontal disease, in particular of generalized periodontitis, has increased up to 98.5% over the past decades. The topical issue of modern dentistry is to fi nd the cause-effect relations of the development of infl ammatory and ...

Development of a mouse monoclonal antibody against the chondroitin sulfate-protein linkage region derived from shark cartilage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) like chondroitin sulfate (CS) and heparan sulfate (HS) are synthesized on the tetrasaccharide linkage region, GlcAβ1-3Galβ1-3Galβ1-4Xylβ1-O-Ser, of proteoglycans.

Glycosaminoglycan in Liver and Spleen of Casein-Induced Experimental Amyloidosis of Mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
1985-03Hepatic and splenic amyloidosis was experimentally induced by casein injections in BALB/C mice and examincd biochemically for glycosaminoglycan constituents. Heparan sulfate and dermatan sulfate were shown to be major components by electrophoresis
