The Glycocalyx: Barriers and Opportunities at Cell–Cell Encounters

open access: yesProteoglycan Research, Volume 3, Issue 4, October 2025.
ABSTRACT The glycocalyx, a carbohydrate‐rich, gel‐like layer that coats every mammalian cell, is the first point of contact between cells in tissues. It therefore critically influences these encounters, impacting their mechanical, electrical, and chemical features that ultimately determines the outcome of cell–cell contacts.

Synthetic Biology and Biomaterials Strategies to Deceive the Tumor Microenvironment in CAR‐T Immunotherapy

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 39, October 2, 2025.
A. Synthetic biology and biomaterials have emerged as tools to study and facilitate the treatment of solid tumors wi‐th chimeric antigen receptor‐CAR‐T cells. These strategies aim to resist the tumor microenvironment‐TME that presents cellular, biochemical, and mechanical immunosuppressive signals that hinder CAR‐T efficacy. B.

Omics‐derived biological modules reflect tau positron emission tomography in Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia: Translational Research &Clinical Interventions, Volume 11, Issue 4, October-December 2025.
Abstract BACKGROUND Tau neurofibrillary pathology is a hallmark of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and can be quantified in vivo using tau‐selective positron emission tomography (tau PET). Tau PET signal closely correlates with cognitive decline and disease stage, yet the molecular networks underpinning tau accumulation remain incompletely defined. METHODS We

Investigating the Effects of Epac2 Activation in an In Vitro Cortical Mechanical Injury Model for Central Nervous System Repair

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 62, Issue 8, October 2025.
Study design. An in vitro cortical mechanical injury model for central nervous system repair, which contained five major neural tissue cells, is established from rats. After 7 days in vitro, the injuries are introduced, and Epac2 agonist S‐220 treatments are applied immediately after injury.
