Aptamer‐Based Delivery Systems for VEGF and NGF Modulation in Ocular Therapies
Aptamer‐based delivery systems targeting NGF and VEGF hold significant potential for precise and sustained treatment of complex diseases affecting both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. This review critically summarizes current strategies for NGF and VEGF delivery as well as VEGF sequestration, providing a clinical perspective on how ...

In this review, we discuss the scientific basis for how neurocognitive aging occurs after critical illness, including sepsis, trauma, and burns, and the clinical need to develop therapies to reduce inflammation, protect the blood–brain barrier, remove senescent cells, and enhance neuroplasticity.

Decoding the Factor H‐Related Proteins: Gatekeepers of Complement Dysregulation in AMD
This review will explore the role of the factor H‐related (FHR) proteins in age‐related macular degeneration (AMD), their accumulation in the outer blood/retinal barrier, and how they may contribute to barrier dysfunction and inflammation. ABSTRACT Age‐related macular degeneration (AMD) is the third most common form of blindness in the Western world ...

Schematic illustration on a therapeutic strategy wherein engineered extracellular vesicles (EVs) are delivered intranasally and specifically target pericytes. In a model of chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (BCAS), this targeted approach preserves cerebral blood flow, reinforces blood‐brain barrier (BBB) integrity, stabilizes the neurovascular unit (NVU),

[Bronchial carcinoid--a rare neoplasm metastasis to choroid].
To present a clinical picture and results of treatment in two patients with bronchial carcinoid metastases to choroid. Two females aged 47 and 56 with bilateral and multiple metastases of bronchial carcinoid were enrolled in this study. Choroidal metastases occurred 6-7 years after primary tumors had been diagnosed.

Exploring and Targeting the Connection of Iron and Copper Homeostasis to Neurodegenerative Diseases
Iron and copper dyshomeostasis, along with their interactions with key intrinsically disordered proteins (e.g., Aβ, tau, α‐synuclein) have a strong implication in the onset and progression of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), Prion diseases (PrDs), Huntington's disease (HD), Wilson's disease (WD),

Organoids: From Bench to Bedside Applications
Organoids, as a groundbreaking biomedical research platform, utilize adult stem cells (ASCs), embryonic stem cells (ESCs), and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) as sources. By integrating specific growth and differentiation signals within an extracellular matrix (e.g., Matrigel), organoids guide cells to self‐assemble into three‐dimensional ...
