Greenhouse Gas Reduction Potential Through Bioheat for Remote Communities in Northeastern Ontario
GCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 7, July 2026.Heating infrastructure in remote areas has high potential for fuel switching, possibly leading to decreased greenhouse gas emissions. Using a simplified life cycle analysis approach, we show that woody residues from the forest industry have the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to commonly used fossil fuels.
