Chromatic aberrations in Eurasian Coot (Fulica atra): new record and a review from Italy suggest a cautious approach in diagnoses

open access: yesRivista Italiana di Ornitologia - Research in Ornithology
We report a case of chromatic aberration (progressive greying) of a Eurasian Coot (Fulica atra) from a drainage canal neighbouring a recently restored wetland from Latium, central Italy (third case for this rail at the regional level).

On-sky demonstration of low-order wavefront sensing and control with focal plane phase mask coronagraphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The ability to characterize exoplanets by spectroscopy of their atmospheres requires direct imaging techniques to isolate planet signal from the bright stellar glare.

Phase from chromatic aberrations

open access: yesOptics Express, 2010
We show that phase objects may be computed accurately from a single color image in a brightfield microscope, with no hardware modification. Our technique uses the chromatic aberration that is inherent to every lens-based imaging system as a phase contrast mechanism.

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.

Investigation of the Optical Properties of the Achromatic Quadrupole Lens by Using the Rectangular Potential Distribution Model

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2009
An optimization calculation is made to find the optimum properties of combined quadrupole lens which consists of electrostatic and magnetic lens. Both chromatic and spherical aberration coefficients are reduced to minimum values and the achromatic ...

Chromatic aberration control with liquid crystal spatial phase modulators.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
The chromatic behavior of diffractive optical elements, exhibiting 2π-wrapped phase profiles, implemented into liquid crystal spatial light modulators (LC-SLM) is described.

Multimodal Optical Imaging and Modulation with Simultaneous Electrophysiology Through Smart Dura in Non‐Human Primates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates multimodal integration in non‐human primates, combining large‐scale, high‐density electrophysiology using Smart Dura with optical techniques such as multiphoton imaging (MPI), photothrombotic lesioning, optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA), wide‐field intrinsic signal optical imaging (ISOI), and optogenetics.

An Open‐Source Pipeline for Calcium Imaging and All‐Optical Physiology in Human Stem Cell‐Derived Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces an open‐source all‐optical platform for functional phenotyping of human stem cell‐derived neurons. The system integrates optogenetics, calcium imaging, automated acquisition, and analysis to resolve single‐cell and network activity, enabling longitudinal measurements, disease modeling, and pharmacological screening in preclinical ...

Genome‐Wide Association Study Reveals Insect Genetics and Microbial Symbiont Effects on Susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the Citrus Greening Pathogen, Candidatus Liberibacter Asiaticus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the genetic and microbial factors influencing the susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the citrus greening pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), employing a microbiome Genome Wide Association Study. The research identifies a key gene encoding an MFS‐type transporter contributing to CLas infectivity and abundance in
