Measurement Range Expansion of Chromatic Confocal Probe with Supercontinuum Light Source

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automation Technology, 2021
Confocal probes have been widely adopted in various industries owing to their depth-sectioning effects. A dual-detector differential chromatic confocal probe using a mode-locked femtosecond laser source is proposed herein, and the measurement range expansion of the probe using a supercontinuum light source is discussed.

Profile Measurement Using Confocal Chromatic Probe on Ultrahigh Precision Machine Tool

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automation Technology, 2021
An on-machine measurement (OMM) system is an effective apparatus for achieving an efficient profile compensation and improving machining conditions in ultrahigh precision machining. Herein, we report a new OMM system with a confocal chromatic probe on a five-axis ultrahigh precision machine tool constructed using a real-time position capturing method ...

Volume Holographic Hyperspectral Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A volume hologram has two degenerate Bragg-phase-matching dimensions and provides the capability of volume holographic imaging. We demonstrate two volume holographic imaging architectures and investigate their imaging resolution, aberration, and ...

The architecture of chicken chromosome territories changes during differentiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
BACKGROUND: Between cell divisions the chromatin fiber of each chromosome is restricted to a subvolume of the interphase cell nucleus called chromosome territory.

Syncrip/hnRNP Q is required for activity-induced Msp300/Nesprin-1 expression and new synapse formation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Memory and learning involve activity-driven expression of proteins and cytoskeletal reorganization at new synapses, requiring posttranscriptional regulation of localized mRNA a long distance from corresponding nuclei.

Towards many colors in FISH on 3D-preserved interphase nuclei [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The article reviews the existing methods of multicolor FISH on nuclear targets, first of all, interphase chromosomes. FISH proper and image acquisition are considered as two related components of a single process.

Confocal Microscopy using an InGaN violet laser diode at 406nm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We report on the application of a novel all-solid-state violet laser diode source to confocal microscopy. The source has the potential to replace argon ion lasers in a range of fluorescence based imaging systems.

Adaptive optics retinal scanner for one-micrometer light source [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We developed an adaptive optics (AO) retinal scanner by using a light source with a center wavelength of 1-microm. In a recent study on optical coherence tomography (OCT), it was proved that 1-microm light provided higher image contrast of deep region of

Broadband spin-controlled focusing via logarithmic-spiral nanoslits of varying width [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This work presents analytical, numerical and experimental demonstrations of light diffracted through a logarithmic spiral (LS) nanoslit, which forms a type of switchable and focus-tunable structure.
