Managing chromoblastomycosis

Chromoblastomycosis is a subcutaneous fungal infection caused by the traumatic inoculation of the skin with pigmented saprophytic moulds. Although infection is rarely fatal, it is characteristically chronic and can be complicated by lymphatic damage and malignant transformation.
