Experimental study on effect of simulated microgravity on structural chromosome instability of human peripheral blood lymphocytes. [PDF]
Experimental study was made by keeping human peripheral blood lymphocytes under simulated microgravity in a Rotary Cell Culture System bioreactor to investigate the changes that occur in the number of chromosomes, the expression rate of chromosome ...

USF binding sequences from the HS4 insulator element impose early replication timing on a vertebrate replicator [PDF]
The nuclear genomes of vertebrates show a highly organized program of DNA replication where GC-rich isochores are replicated early in S-phase, while AT-rich isochores are late replicating.

Chk1 inhibits replication factory activation but allows dormant origin firing in existing factories [PDF]
Replication origins are licensed by loading MCM2-7 hexamers before entry into S phase. However, only similar to 10% of licensed origins are normally used in S phase, with the others remaining dormant.

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Localization of an accessory helicase at the replisome is critical in sustaining efficient genome duplication [PDF]

Summary: Mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) in the primed pluripotency state, which resembles the post-implantation epiblast, can be de-differentiated in culture to a naive state that resembles the pre-implantation inner cell mass.

Two different cell-cycle processes determine the timing of cell division in Escherichia coli
Cells must control the cell cycle to ensure that key processes are brought to completion. In Escherichia coli, it is controversial whether cell division is tied to chromosome replication or to a replication-independent inter-division process.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The radial arrangement of the human chromosome 7 in the lymphocyte cell nucleus is associated with chromosomal band gene density [PDF]
This is the author's accepted manuscript. The final published article is available from the link below. Copyright @ Springer-Verlag 2008.In the nuclei of human lymphocytes, chromosome territories are distributed according to the average gene density of ...
