Clinical features and prognostic factors of adult systemic chronic active EBV disease: A retrospective analysis in Japan

ALT and ferritin were adverse prognostic markers enabling risk stratification in adult systemic chronic active Epstein–Barr virus disease (sCAEBV). In hydroa vacciniforme lymphoproliferative disorder (HV‐LPD), Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) infection of CD4+ cells was associated with progression to sCAEBV.

Summary Therapeutic options for relapsed or refractory diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (rDLBCL) have expanded following accelerated approvals based largely on surrogate end‐points, yet confirmatory studies have not consistently reproduced these benefits across all agents, and outcomes for many patients remain poor.

Optical genome mapping improves detection and characterisation of cytogenetic abnormalities in non‐Hodgkin lymphomas

Optical genome mapping (OGM) is feasible on fresh and frozen tissue lymphoma samples and demonstrated its added value for accurate diagnostic classification. OGM surpasses karyotype and FISH in refining diagnoses of lymphoma, identifying class‐defining rearrangements along with prognostic markers.

Thrombocytosis and the generation of platelet‐derived microparticles in the pathophysiology of sickle cell disease

Thrombocytosis is associated with an increased production of platelet‐derived microparticles from activated platelets, which contribute to vaso‐occlusion in sickle cell disease by perpetuating the cycle of inflammation, procoagulant state and endothelial dysfunction.
