Myeloid-Derived Suppressor Cells in Lung Transplantation

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) are a heterogeneous group of immune cells from the myeloid lineage. MDSCs expand in pathological situations, such as chronic infection, cancer, autoimmunity, and allograft rejection.

Transition from Transbronchial Forceps to Cryobiopsy After Lung Transplantation: A Single-Centre Experience

open access: yesLife
The gold standard for histological acute cellular rejection diagnosis is transbronchial forceps biopsy (FB), but in recent years, transbronchial cryobiopsy (CB) has been increasingly used.

Selective CD28 Blockade Attenuates Acute and Chronic Rejection of Murine Cardiac Allografts in a CTLA‐4‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Transplantation, 2011
Selective blockade of CD28 is a promising therapy to inhibit pathogenic alloimmunity. However, evaluation of this approach in transplantation has been very limited. Using a novel nonactivating single‐chain Fv‐based reagent (α28scFv), we have investigated

Cellulose‐Nanofiber‐Based Layered Sub‐Terahertz Absorbing Sheets for B5G/6G Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We report a sub‐terahertz absorber made of biodegradable cellulose‐nanofiber (CNF), potentially useful for B5G/6G devices to achieve electromagnetic compatibility in an eco‐friendly way. The absorber is 120 µm thick and consists of two carbon‐nanotube‐dispersed CNF layers and one pure CNF layer.

Heme oxygenase-1 modulates CD62E-dependent endothelial cell–monocyte interactions and mitigates HLA-I-induced transplant vasculopathy in mice

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
The main risk factor for developing transplant vasculopathy (TV) after solid organ transplantation is de-novo production of donor-specific antibodies (DSAs) binding to endothelial cells (ECs) within the graft’s vasculature.

High Mean Fluorescence Intensity Donor‐Specific Anti‐HLA Antibodies Associated With Chronic Rejection Postliver Transplant

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Transplantation, 2011
In contrast to kidney transplantation where donor‐specific anti‐HLA antibodies (DSA) negatively impact graft survival, correlation of DSA with clinical outcomes in patients after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) has not been clearly established. We

Terahertz Waveform‐Selective Antenna Using a Patch Structure Loaded with Nonlinear Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
A waveform‐selective antenna that integrates the functions of waveform selectivity, electromagnetic shielding, and EM wave radiation has been proposed. By integrating different nonlinear circuits and selecting appropriate component values, the antenna can achieve high reflection of either a pulse wave or a continuous wave, while allowing the other ...

Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...
