Tumor chronobiology

Journal of Controlled Release, 2001
Traditionally, drug delivery has meant getting a simple chemical absorbed predictably from the gut or from the site of injection. A second-generation drug delivery goal has been the perfection of continuous constant rate (zero-order) delivery of simple xenobiotic molecules or common hormones.

Chronobiology and anaesthesia

Current Opinion in Anaesthesiology, 2007
It has been shown that biological rhythms influence the pharmacology and effects of anaesthetic agents such as local anaesthetics, hypnotics and muscle relaxants. This review discusses the latest findings and their consequences for anaesthesiological practice.

Fibromyalgia: Chronobiological Aspects

Chronobiology International, 1994
The primary fibromyalgia syndrome (Weichteilrheumatismus) shows a circadian rhythm of the symptoms and, moreover, a seasonality of pain severeness. Although the pathophysiologic mechanisms are unknown, the circadian variations are well documented in the literature; the seasonality of pain is sometimes clinically reported.

Chronobiology

1999
Abstract The ability to regulate physiologic functions rhythmically is a phylogenetically ancient adaptation to the change in environment that accompanies the earth’s rotation, and circadian rhythms have been identified in almost all organisms from unicellular algae to primates.

Mathematical Modeling in Chronobiology

2013
Circadian clocks are autonomous oscillators entrained by external Zeitgebers such as light-dark and temperature cycles. On the cellular level, rhythms are generated by negative transcriptional feedback loops. In mammals, the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) in the anterior part of the hypothalamus plays the role of the central circadian pacemaker ...

Chronobiological Treatments

2019
Chronobiology is the study of circadian rhythms that are present in many aspects of our daily health, from molecular to behavioral levels. Bright environmental light is known to synchronize the biological clock in the brain that regulates circadian hormonal and sleep–wake cycles.
