Status of Hornyhead Chub (Nocomis biguttatus) and Redspot Chub (Nocomis asper) in Kansas

Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science, 2020
The Hornyhead Chub (Nocomis biguttatus) and Redspot Chub (Nocomis asper) are threatened species in Kansas, with population declines attributed largely to agriculture and impoundments. Both species are ecosystem engineers via their reproductive behavior, as they create and guard spawning mounds which other fishes use for spawning habitat.

What's in the Hump of the Humpback Chub?

Western North American Naturalist, 2020
The function of the nuchal hump on adult humpback chub (Gila cypha) has been the subject of longtime conjecture. Hypotheses about the purpose of the hump range from it being a feature that confers hydrodynamic advantages in swift water to speculation about how the hump may have reduced predation vulnerability to Colorado pikeminnows (Ptychocheilus ...

CHUB: A CARTOGRAPHIC HUMAN BODY MODEL

2007
There are several ways of analyzing and modeling the human body and its associated morphological and physiological data. Most of the models, used to analyze, to process and to visualize these data, do not take into account the strong spatial interdependency inherent to human body’s functioning.

Temporal and Spatial Relations between the Spawning of Humpback Chub and Roundtail Chub in the Upper Colorado River

Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 1990
Abstract Gonadosomatic indices (100 × gonad weight/whole-body weight) and the occurrence of expressible gametes indicated a temporal overlap in the spawning of humpback chub Gila cypha and roundtail chub G. robusta at Black Rocks, a turbulent, deepwater reach of the upper Colorado River, Colorado (39°N, 109°W). Radiotelemetry showed that roundtail chub
