Simulation and experimental study of influences of shape of roller on the lubrication performance of precision speed reducer

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics, 2020
This paper presents a study to investigate the effects of the shape of rollers in high precision enveloping speed reducer on the reducer’s lubrication performance. Theoretical models for the precision speed reducer with cylindrical and conical rollers as

Process Framework for Subscriber Management and Retention in Nigerian Telecommunication Industry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
in the global telecommunication industry. Hence, a dominant approach for subscriber management and retention is churn control, since it is cheaper to retain an existing subscriber than acquiring a new one.

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

Study on the Thermal Distribution Characteristics of High-Speed and Light-Load Rolling Bearing Considering Skidding

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Skidding, which frequently occurs in high-speed rolling bearings, has a significant effect on the thermal distribution and service reliability of the bearings. An improved theoretical model of friction power loss distribution in high-speed and light-load

Microporous Microgel Assemblies Facilitating the Recruitment and Osteogenic Differentiation of Progenitor Cells for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
There is a significant need for biomaterials with well‐defined stability and bioactivity to support tissue regeneration. In this study, we developed a tunable microgel platform that enables the decoupling of stiffness from porosity, thereby promoting bone regeneration.

High‐Spatiotemporal‐Resolution Transparent Thermoelectric Temperature Sensor Arrays Reveal Temperature‐Dependent Windows for Reversible Photothermal Neuromodulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermoelectric temperature sensors are developed that directly measure heat changes during optical‐based neural stimulation with millisecond precision. The sensors reveal the temperature windows for safe reversible neural modulation: 1.4–4.5 °C enables reversible neural inhibition, while temperatures above 6.1 °C cause permanent thermal damage.

Influence of lubricant temperature, lubricant level and rotational speed on the churning power loss in an industrial planetary speed reducer: computational and experimental study [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Methods and Experimental Measurements, 2013
Planetary speed reducers are applied in a wide range of applications. Their main advantages are the compact design and high power density. For this reason, the demand for high effi ciency gearboxes is continuously increasing and this is also why models to predict the additional churning loss, characteristic of this kind of gearing, are required.

Upconversion Nanoparticles Embedded Photonic Contact Lens for Transepithelial Corneal Crosslinking Using Hyaluronate – Riboflavin Conjugate

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A minimally invasive, transepithelial corneal cross‐linking (TE‐CXL) approach is presented using upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs)‐loaded contact lenses (UCLs), after topical delivery of hyaluronate–riboflavin conjugates. The NIR‐to‐UV/blue light conversion by UCNPs in a UCL can activate riboflavin for TE‐CXL, resulting in the biomechanical strength ...
