SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND CIEL*a*b* COLOR SPACE STUDY OF TWO ECO-FRIENDLY DIRECT STILBENE AZOIC DYES

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai Chemia
The article presents the synthesis of two disazo-stilbene dyes with symmetrical structure. A non-carcinogen, non-mutagen/teratogen intermediate, 4,4'-diaminostilben-2,2'-disulfonic acid was used as central component and the 8-amino-1-naphtol-3,6-disulphonic acid and the 6-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulphonic acid as coupling components respectively.

Influence of the type of Sherry wine and the length of time of the seasoning on phenolic and furanic compounds and CIEL*a*b* parameters of Brandies de Jerez

open access: yesLWT
Brandy de Jerez is a unique spirit characterized by its aging in Sherry Casks®. Seasoning softens the casks’ wood and removes part of its extractable compounds, some of which are undesirable from an organoleptic point of view. The seasoning wine contributes with specific compounds that otherwise either would not be present at all in Brandies de Jerez ...
