Lemierre's Syndrome Caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae: Case Report and Review of the Literature
Axial contrast‐enhanced chest CT demonstrating multiple peripheral cavitary nodules and consolidations, predominantly in the right lower lobe, consistent with septic pulmonary emboli (arrows). ABSTRACT Klebsiella pneumoniae is an uncommon but increasingly recognized cause of Lemierre's syndrome, a condition classically associated with Fusobacterium ...

Comparative efficacies of imipenem, oxacillin and vancomycin for therapy of chronic foreign body infection due to methicillin-susceptible and -resistant Staphylococcus aureus [PDF]
The efficacies of imipenem when directed against methicillin-susceptible (MSSA) and methicillin-resistant (MRSA) strains of Staphylococcus aureus were compared with those of oxacillin and vancomycin in a subcutaneous rat model, using chronically infected

Reversing Antibiotic Resistance: Strategies From Adjuvants to Innovative Therapeutics
Molecular reversal strategies against antibiotic resistance act through three mechanisms: inhibiting resistance gene function, blocking horizontal gene transfer, and modulating host defense. Emerging technologies, such as CRISPR‐Cas gene editing, photodynamic therapy, nanotechnology, and ecological competition, further strengthen these approaches ...

ABSTRACT Sinomenine, derived from Sinomenium acutum, is widely used in inflammatory diseases. However, its risk of inducing agranulocytosis is not widely appreciated. We report a life‐threatening case in a 40‐year‐old woman with chronic kidney disease (CKD; baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate [eGFR] as low as 36 mL/min/1.73 m2) who developed ...
