“It wasn't me, check the cameras!” Suspects' apparent verifiable responses might not indicate innocence

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences &the Law, Volume 41, Issue 6, Page 504-525, November/December 2023., 2023
Abstract The verifiability of a suspect's alibi is often interpreted as a sign of innocence. Because the police resources are limited, verifiability could be used to dismiss suspects of minor offenses. We examined whether alibi verifiability actually indicates innocence for minor crimes.

Plant–soil feedbacks in a diverse grassland: Soil remembers, but not too much

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 111, Issue 6, Page 1203-1217, June 2023., 2023
The authors showed that plant‐induced soil legacies of a dominant species can be altered by legacies of co‐occurring plants, complicating plant–soil feedbacks in diverse communities. Despite the detectable legacy effects on final plant biomass, in the short term, plant growth responds more strongly to the levels of available nutrients.

A quantitative approach to the choice of number of samples for percentile estimation in bootstrap and visual predictive check analyses

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 11, Issue 6, Page 673-686, June 2022., 2022
Abstract Understanding the uncertainty in parameter estimates or in derived secondary variables is important in all data analysis activities. In pharmacometrics, this is often done based on the standard errors from the variance–covariance matrix of the estimates.
