Role of Efflux Pumps in the in vitro Development of Ciprofloxacin Resistance in Listeria monocytogenes [PDF]
Efflux is a primary fluoroquinolone resistance mechanism in Listeria monocytogenes. In the present study, ciprofloxacin resistant strains were selected by exposure of sensitive strain to progressively increasing concentrations of ciprofloxacin and then ...

An atomically dispersed Co–N4 single‐atom catalyst rapidly activates peroxymonosulfate to remove the antibiotic sulfamethoxazole from water. Common ions have little impact, but chloride dramatically speeds degradation by promoting a high‐valent Co(IV) = O oxidant via in situ HOCl–catalyst electron transfer.

Poly(styrene-alt-maleic anhydride) Conjugated with Spermine: Synthesis, Antibacterial Activity and Antibiotic Susceptibility [PDF]
Hypothesis: In the past decades, the increasing resistance to antibiotics among some nosocomial infection pathogens has been one of the largest challenges of human health. One of the ways to reduce antibiotic resistance in bacteria is the combination use

Metabolism‐Based Biomarkers for Rapid Phenotypic Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing
Metabolic differences emerging after antibiotic exposure provide rapid phenotypic signals of susceptibility and resistance. This review summarizes metabolic biomarkers for rapid phenotypic AST, associated with nutrient uptake, respiratory activity, metabolic reprogramming, and enzymatic function. ABSTRACT The accelerating global crisis of antimicrobial
