T2T Genomes Unveil Centromere Architecture and Adaptive Divergence in Large Yellow Croaker (Larimichthys crocea)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents telomere‐to‐telomere genome assemblies for two populations of Larimichthys crocea. We identified centromere‐specific tandem repeats invaded by LTR/ERV1 retrotransposons, unique 5S rRNA enrichment patterns, and population‐specific structural variants. Comparative genomic analyses further reveal distinct adaptive mechanisms in the MYD

Patients‐Derived Organoids Sequencing‐based FOXP4 Facilitates Radioresistance by Transcriptionally Modifying GPX4 to Regulate ferroptosis in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FOXP4 regulates GPX4 transcription to suppress ferroptosis. In CRC patients, initial biopsies established PDO cultures alongside concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Post‐treatment MRI with mrTRG scoring stratified radioresistant/sensitive cohorts. Parallelly, 8Gy‐irradiated PDOs underwent viability‐based stratification.

Rodent models for the analysis of tissue clock function in metabolic rhythms research [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The circadian timing system consists on a distributed network of cellular clocks that together coordinate 24-h rhythms of physiology and behavior. Clock function and metabolism are tightly coupled, from the cellular to the organismal level.

Development of Salivary Cortisol Circadian Rhythm and Reference Intervals in Full-Term Infants

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Background Cortisol concentrations in plasma display a circadian rhythm in adults and children older than one year. Earlier studies report divergent results regarding when cortisol circadian rhythm is established. The present study aims to investigate at

Precision‐Arranged DNA Origami Plasmonic Nanoantennas for Multidimensional Smart‐Warning of Weightlessness Induced Bone Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
It is synthesized precision‐arranged DNA origami plasmonic nanoantennas for multiplexed and intelligent warning of bone loss induced by microgravity and radiation. The ordered nanoantennas simultaneously and accurately detected calcium ions, interleukin‐6, and microRNA‐214 in serum from mice exposed to microgravity and radiation, with performance ...

Global parameter search reveals design principles of the mammalian circadian clock [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Background: Virtually all living organisms have evolved a circadian (~24 hour) clock that controls physiological and behavioural processes with exquisite precision throughout the day/night cycle.

Type 2 Diabetes‐Associated Phenylacetylglutamine Induces Deleterious Inflammation Cycle in Myeloid Cells through β2 Adrenergic Receptors and Impedes Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The microbiota‐derived metabolite phenylacetylglutamine (PAGln) is elevated in type 2 diabetes and tightly associated with poor healing in both diabetic and non‐diabetic human patients. PAGln promotes mouse inflammation and impairs healing through a transmissible β2‐adrenergic receptor–mediated trained‐immunity loop.

Redox rhythm reinforces the circadian clock to gate immune response

open access: yesNature, 2015
Recent studies have shown that in addition to the transcriptional circadian clock, many organisms, including Arabidopsis, have a circadian redox rhythm driven by the organism’s metabolic activities.

Bioinspired Prolactin Pulse Release from Responsive Microneedles for Inhibiting Fatty Liver Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the prolactin secretion profile under normal physiological conditions, biomimetic prolactin‐releasing microneedles are designed. Under the control of near infrared (NIR), these responsive microneedles facilitate pulsed release of prolactin to inhibit fatty liver formation.

Experimentally Guided Iterative Parameter Estimation for Predictive Chemical Oscillator Models

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We present an iterative, experimentally guided parameter estimation method to improve the predictivity of chemical oscillator models. This method enables the efficient identification of sustained oscillations in the Fmoc oscillator across diverse conditions.
