Polynomial-time approximation schemes for circle and other packing problems [PDF]
Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq)Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)We consider the problem of packing a set of circles into a minimum number of unit square bins.

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Computational Circle Packing: Geometry and Discrete Analytic Function Theory [PDF]
Geometric Circle Packings are of interest not only for their aesthetic appeal but also their relation to discrete analytic function theory. This thesis presents new computational methods which enable additional practical applications for circle packing ...

Revisiting the Hexagonal Lattice: On Optimal Lattice Circle Packing [PDF]
In this note we give a simple proof of the classical fact that the hexagonal lattice gives the highest density circle packing among all lattices in R2.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Installation of Smog-Free Towers Using Novel Real Coded Genetic Algorithm
The circle packing problem involves finding the best way to place non-overlapping circles within a given space, while the smog-free tower installation problem aims to minimize the exposure of residents to secondhand smog by identifying the optimal tower ...

Heterogeneous UAV Cells: An Effective Resource Allocation Scheme for Maximum Coverage Performance
This paper develops an effective approach for the 3D deployment of a heterogeneous set of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) acting as aerial base stations that provide maximum wireless coverage for ground users in a given geographical area. This problem is

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

A Circle Packing Algorithm [PDF]
. A circle packing is a configuration P of circles realizing a specified pattern of tangencies. We describe an efficient algorithm for computing the radii of packings in euclidean and hyperbolic geometry, discuss its performance, and illustrate some ...
