Analysis of circular and rectangular apertures in a circular waveguide

IEEE International Digest on Microwave Symposium, 2002
An analysis is carried out to determine the discontinuity susceptibility of a circular or rectangular aperture in the transverse plane of a circular waveguide. A closed-form solution that shows good agreement with experimental results is derived. The results should have many applications in the design of circular waveguide components and cylindrical ...

The Faraday and Allied Effects in Circular Waveguides

International Journal of Engineering Science, 1963
The propagation of electromagnetic waves, along a circular cylindrical waveguide containing a holohedral isotropic material under the influence of applied static, electric and magnetic fields, is investigated. The constitutive equations employed are based upon those derived by Toupin and Rivlin [1] for such materials.

The helically wrapped circular waveguide

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1987
This paper contains a theoretical investigation into a form of helical waveguide intended for use as a slow-wave structure within a microwave amplifier. The primary advantage of a helical waveguide over a tape helix is its greater heat capacity; unfortunately, a closed structure like the helical waveguide has a low-frequency cutoff, making it more ...

Multilayer Hybrid in Circular Waveguide

MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 1979
A circular-waveguide multilayer dielectric sheet hybrid junction having nearly constant power division over 40-110 GHz and minimal spurious mode generation is designed using ray optics. Experimental results are given and broadband filter applications are examined.

Circular waveguide of moving boundary

Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 1996
In this paper, we investigate the oscillating electromagnetic processes in a circular and regular waveguide of a moving boundary. An analytical solution for this problem is not possible in the general case. Following the suggestion in [1,2] we have developed an analytical method for the case of axisymmetric waves in the waveguide.

Circular-to-rectangular waveguide diplexers

2001 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Sympsoium Digest (Cat. No.01CH37157), 2002
Design of circular-to-rectangular waveguide diplexers with circular waveguide as common port is presented. A ridged circular-to-rectangular waveguide T-junction is proposed as diplexing manifold. Full-wave optimization is used in the diplexer design. A Ka-band H-plane circular-to-rectangular waveguide diplexer is designed.

Coupling of two helical circular waveguides

Optics Letters
Coupling between optical waveguides has always been an important topic. By using the finite element method (FEM) based on a helicoidal coordinate system, we present a detailed study of the couplings between two helical coupled circular waveguides, showing several important aspects that were not found in previous studies. Our numerical results show that

Triply-ridged circular waveguides

Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 1995
Ridged waveguide is a classic arrangement utilized in broadband microwave components. An analysis of triply-ridged waveguide, presented here, indicates that the dominant mode consists of a degenerate pair. Degenerate mode pairs are widely used in phase shift and control applications. It also exhibits single mode bandwidth characteristics more favorable

Matched windows in circular waveguide

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1988
Design curves are presented for the matching of a dielectric window in circular waveguide propagating the dominant TE/sub 11/ mode. The matching is accomplished by thick or thin inductive irises which are in contact with the window on both sides. This configuration gives wide bandwidth and is mechanically convenient, but requires consideration of ...
