The Circumstellar Gas of Phi Leonis in the UV [PDF]
Abstract HST UV spectra were obtained to study whether the φ Leo system has one or more stellar companions, as shown for the A-star dwarf, HR10, stellar pulsation, or transiting exocomets.

The Imprint of Massive Stellar Evolution on Circumstellar Gas [PDF]
We follow the interaction of massive stars with their circumstellar media over their entire lifetimes by combining several numerical models. We use a stellar evolution model for 35 and 60 M⊙ stars (Langer et al. in preparation) as inner boundary conditions for one- and two-dimensional gas dynamical models of the circumstellar medium using ZEUS (Stone ...

Type-Ia supernovae in dense circumstellar gas [PDF]
We propose a simple model for the bolometric light curve of type Ia supernova exploding in a dense circumstellar (CS) envelope to describe the light curves of supernovae 2002ic and 1997cy. The modeling shows that at the radius $\sim7\times10^{15}$ cm the density of CS envelopes around both supernovae is similar.

Detection of nitrogen gas in the β Pictoris circumstellar disc [PDF]
Context. The gas composition of the debris disc surrounding β Pictoris is rich in carbon and oxygen relative to solar abundances. Two possible scenarios have been proposed to explain this enrichment. The preferential production scenario suggests that the produced gas may be naturally rich in carbon and oxygen, while the alternative preferential ...

Detection of circumstellar gas associated with GG Tauri
Double-peaked (C-12)O (1-0) emission centered on the young T Tauri star GG Tau possesses a line profile which may be modeled on the assumption that CO emission arises in an extended circumstellar disk. While bounds on the observed gas mass can be estimated on this basis, it is suggested that a large amount of mass could lie within a small and optically

Sustained Kozai–Lidov Oscillations in Misaligned Circumstellar Gas Disks [PDF]
Abstract A disk around one component of a binary star system with sufficiently high inclination can undergo Kozai–Lidov (KL) oscillations during which the disk inclination and disk eccentricity are exchanged. Previous studies show that without a source of accretion, KL unstable disks exhibit damped oscillations, due to viscous ...

Dust Rings in the Circumstellar Gas Disks [PDF]
In optically thin gas disks around young Vega-type stars, dust grains are exposed to the stellar radiation pressure and gas drag force. The combination of these forces pushes the grains away from the central star. Typically, 10–100 μm grains migrate outward to become concentrated at the outer edge of the gas disk.
