Tracing large-scale structures in circumstellar disks with ALMA
Planets are supposed to form in circumstellar disks. The gravitational potential of a planet perturbs the disk and leads to characteristic structures, i.e. spiral waves and gaps, in the disk's density profile.

The Unusual Spitzer Spectrum of the Carbon Star IRAS 04496–6958: A Different Condensation Sequence in the LMC? [PDF]
We present a new Spitzer Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) spectrum of the carbon star IRAS 04496-6958 in the Large Magellanic Cloud, which exhibits a fairly broad absorption feature at ~11 μm.

The Circumstellar Disk of the Butterfly Star in Taurus
We present a model of the circumstellar environment of the so-called ``Butterfly Star'' in Taurus (IRAS 04302+2247). The appearance of this young stellar object is dominated by a large circumstellar disk seen edge-on and the light scattering lobes above ...

Relation between the luminosity of young stellar objects and their circumstellar environment [PDF]
We present a new model-independent method of comparison of NIR visibility data of YSOs. The method is based on scaling the measured baseline with the YSO's distance and luminosity, which removes the dependence of visibility on these two variables. We use

Photoelectron Spectroscopy of the Phosphorus Monosulfide (PS) and Phosphorus Monoxide (PO) Radicals
Sketch of the experiment to measure the photo electron spectrum of the PS radical produced in situ with a mixture of PH3, H2S and F atoms. PO and PS radicals are the smallest units of phosphorus oxides and phosphorus sulfides, respectively, two rich families of refractory compounds widely employed in industrial and technological applications. These two

Correlated Molybdenum, Ruthenium, and Barium Isotope Anomalies in Presolar Silicon Carbide Grains
We have analyzed molybdenum, ruthenium, and barium isotopes simultaneously in 55 individual presolar silicon carbide (SiC) grains from the Murchison CM2 meteorite using the Chicago Instrument for Laser Ionization (or CHILI).

Dust Production around Carbon-Rich Stars: The Role of Metallicity
Background: Most of the stars in the Universe will end their evolution by losing their envelope during the thermally pulsing asymptotic giant branch (TP-AGB) phase, enriching the interstellar medium of galaxies with heavy elements, partially condensed ...

Satellites and Small Bodies With ALMA: Insights Into Solar System Formation and Evolution
Abstract Our understanding of the formation and evolution of planetary systems has made major advances in the past decade. This progress has been driven in large part by the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), which has given us an unprecedented view of solar system bodies themselves, and of the structure and chemistry of forming ...
