Synthesis and Study of Heteronuclear Citrates

open access: yes, 2014
: Terms of synthesis were determined for creation of new generation premixes and for their testing in experiments. Heteronuclear chelate citrates of general formula: M I2 M II L 2 · n H 2 O (where, M I = Zn, Co, Fe, Mn, Cu; M II = Mn, Zn, Co, Cu; n = O/4)

Loss of proton‐sensing GPR4 reduces tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
G protein‐coupled receptor 4 (GPR4) is a pH‐sensing receptor activated by acidic pH. GPR4 expression is increased in patients with inflammatory bowel disease who are at high risk of developing colorectal cancer. In mouse models, loss of GPR4 attenuated tumor progression. This correlated with increased IL2 and natural killer cell activity.

Dose‐dependent induction of epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in 3D melanoma models by non‐thermal plasma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Non‐thermal plasma treatment of melanoma cells induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a dose‐dependent fashion. This report highlights the critical need to further investigate potential adverse effects of non‐thermal plasma for cancer therapy and to optimize treatment parameters for clinical translation. Despite the promising results of non‐

Dipotassium tetraaquabis(μ-citrato-κ4O:O′,O′′,O′′′)nickelate(II) tetrahydrate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2013
The title complex, K2[Ni2(C6H5O7)2(H2O)4]·4H2O, is a dinuclear centrosymmetric anionic octahedral complex, involving citrates as tridentate and bridging ligands, and coordinating water molecules.

Citrate in urine determined with a new citrate lyase method

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 1995
Abstract An enzyme-spectrophotometric method to determine citrate in biological fluids is proposed, based on citrate lyase-catalyzed and phenylhydrazine reactions. The enzyme converts citrate into oxaloacetate, which, in the presence of phenylhydrazine, is transformed into the corresponding phenylhydrazone.

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Simultaneous inhibition of TRIM24 and TRIM28 sensitises prostate cancer cells to antiandrogen therapy, decreasing VEGF signalling and angiogenesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TRIM24 and TRIM28 are androgen receptor (AR) coregulators which exhibit increased expression with cancer progression. Both TRIM24 and TRIM28 combine to influence the response of castrate‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) cells to AR inhibitors by mediating AR signalling, regulation of MYC and upregulating VEGF to promote angiogenesis. Castrate‐resistant

Applying Regional Citrate Anticoagulation in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy for Acute Kidney Injury Patients with Acute Liver Dysfunction: a Retrospective Observational Study

open access: yesKidney & Blood Pressure Research, 2018
Background/Aims: Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is a treatment for acute kidney injury (AKI) patients. It has become a controversy about whether patients with liver dysfunction should perform CRRT with regional citrate anticoagulation (RCA).

Biosynthesized silver nanoparticles to control fungal infections in indoor environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Fungi grow especially in dark and moist areas, deteriorating the indoor environment and causing infections that particularly affect immunosuppressed individuals.

Inhibition of mannitol crystallization in frozen solutions by sodium phosphates and citrates.

open access: yesChemical and pharmaceutical bulletin, 2007
Effects of co-solutes on the physical property of mannitol and sorbitol in frozen solutions and freeze-dried solids were studied as a model of controlling component crystallinity in pharmaceutical formulations.
