The first step in building a citrus orchard on the coastal sandy, windy, arid land is planting effective wind-protecting shelter belts. The belts can reduce the critical wind speed, which forms the sand flow, usually 5-6 meters per second to less than 3 meters per second. It effectively avoids the outflow of sand from the orchard.
