Trusting the Gatekeeper: Why and When Do we Trust State Audit Institutions?

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, Volume 20, Issue 4, Page 2052-2065, October 2026.
ABSTRACT We reveal the sources of public trust in state audit institutions as a major gatekeeper of good governance. Based on rationales developed in trust research and democratic theory, we test our hypotheses using a survey distributed to Israeli citizens.

Long‐term trends in greenness in the alpine zone of northeastern North America from remote sensing

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Alpine zones above treeline in the Appalachian Mountains and adjacent ranges of northeastern North America support distinctive ecological communities that thrive where conditions are too harsh for trees to grow. These communities differ from alpine zones elsewhere on the continent and are a regionally important source of floristic biodiversity,

Table_1_Sodium Taurocholate Cotransporting Polypeptide (NTCP) Deficiency Hidden Behind Citrin Deficiency in Early Infancy: A Report of Three Cases.docx

open access: yes, 2019
Sodium taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide (NTCP), a carrier protein encoded by the gene SLC10A1, is expressed in the basolateral membrane of the hepatocyte to uptake bile acids from plasma.

Biochemical characteristics of neonatal cholestasis induced by citrin deficiency

open access: yesWorld Journal of Gastroenterology, 2012
To explore differences in biochemical indices between neonatal intrahepatic cholestasis caused by citrin deficiency (NICCD) and that with other etiologies.Patients under 6 mo of age who were referred for investigation of conjugated hyperbilirubinaemia from June 2003 to December 2010 were eligible for this study.

Neonatal intrahepatic cholestasis caused by citrin deficiency: prevalence and SLC25A13 mutations among thai infants

open access: yesBMC Gastroenterology, 2012
Background The most common causes of cholestatic jaundice are biliary atresia and idiopathic neonatal hepatitis (INH). Specific disorders underlying INH, such as various infectious and metabolic causes, including neonatal intrahepatic cholestasis caused ...

Early Detection and Diagnosis of Neonatal Intrahepatic Cholestasis Caused by Citrin Deficiency Missed by Newborn Screening Using Tandem Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesInternational Journal of Neonatal Screening, 2018
Citrullinemia is the earliest identifiable biochemical abnormality in neonates with intrahepatic cholestasis due to a citrin deficiency (NICCD) and it has been included in newborn screening panels using tandem mass spectrometry. However, only one neonate

Screening for inborn errors of metabolism in high-risk children: a 3-year pilot study in Zhejiang Province, China

open access: yesBMC Pediatrics, 2012
Background Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) has been available in China for 8 years. This technique makes it possible to screen for a wide range of previously unscreened inborn errors of metabolism (IEM) using a single test.

Conventional Diet Therapy for Hyperammonemia is Risky in the Treatment of Hepatic Encephalopathy Associated with Citrin Deficiency

open access: yes, 2015
Citrin deficiency caused by SLC25A13 gene mutations develops into adult-onset type II citrullinemia (CTLN2) presenting with hepatic encephalopathy. Recent studies have suggested that excessive loading of carbohydrates is harmful in citrin-deficient ...
