Citrinin-Induced Hepatotoxicity in Mice Is Regulated by the Ca2+/Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Signaling Pathway

open access: yesToxins, 2022
Citrinin (CTN) is a mycotoxin found in crops and agricultural products and poses a serious threat to human and animal health. The aim of this study is to investigate the hepatotoxicity of CTN in mice and analyze its mechanisms from Ca2+-dependent ...

Safety and efficacy of a feed additive consisting of l‐valine produced with Corynebacterium glutamicum CCTCC M 20232578 for all animal species (Kempex Holland B.V.)

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of l‐valine produced with a non‐genetically modified strain of Corynebacterium glutamicum (CCTCC M 20232578) as a nutritional feed additive, to be used in feed or water for drinking for all animal species and categories ...

Citrinin Exposure in Germany: Urine Biomarker Analysis in Children and Adults

open access: yesToxins, 2022
Citrinin (CIT), a mycotoxin known to exert nephrotoxicity, is a contaminant in food and feed. Since CIT contamination is not regularly analyzed, data on its occurrence and especially levels in food commodities are insufficient for conducting a ...

Active Polymers Containing Silver Nanoparticles Combined With Formulations Based on Essential Oils: Quality Effect on Cereals and Dairy Products

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Bioactive nanocomposite diffusion films containing plant essential oils (EOs) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were fabricated and tested against foodborne pathogens, spoilage organisms, and insects in packaged foods. Films were based on chitosan (CH), poly(butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate) (PBAT), and polylactic acid (PLA), containing ...

Polarography of Citrinin

open access: yesJournal of the agricultural chemical society of Japan, 1955

Mycotoxins in plant‐based drinks (soy, almond and oat): the BfR updates its assessment of their health risks based on newly collected data

open access: yesFood Risk Assess Europe, Volume 4, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Mycotoxins (mould toxins) are secondary metabolites of moulds. They are natural toxins whose occurrence in food and feed is undesirable but cannot be completely avoided. Mycotoxins may occur as contaminants in plant products and raw materials such as grains, nuts and almonds if they are infested with mould during cultivation, storage or ...

Determination of Citrinin in Corn and Barley

open access: yesJournal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL, 1978
Abstract A method is described for determining citrinin in corn and barley. The initial extraction uses an aqueous acidified acetonitrile solution, and the resulting solution is partially purified by several partition steps. Citrinin is determined by using either high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) or thin layer chromatography ...
