Elasto-plastic structural stability of arches

open access: yes, 2000
The elastic-plastic structural stability behaviour of arches is analysed in the present work. The application of the developed mathematical model, allows to determine the elastic-plastic equilibrium paths, looking for critical points, bifurcation or limit,

Autonomous Locomotion of Tensegrity Structure on Low‐Temperature Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A low‐temperature responsive tensegrity structure (LRTS) is constructed by integrating low‐responsive temperature liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) cables, nonresponsive cables, and stiff rods. The low phase transition temperature of LCE is achieved by introducing a new liquid crystal mesogen.

3D‐Printing Aided Rapid Prototyping of Pretensioned Tensegrity Structures for Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Printing, injection molding, and assembly (PMA) is a method for rapid prototyping mesoscale, topologically complex, and tensioned tensegrity structures. In combination with PMA method, two mold design strategies: modular mold and compact channel layout, enable efficiency and scalability for tensegrity fabrication.

Intelligent Sky Guardians (InSkyGuard): An Aerial Robotic Swarm for Autonomous Detection and Entrapment of Rogue Multirotors

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Intelligent Sky Guardians (InSkyGuard) is introduced as a four‐drone swarm that autonomously detects, tracks, and safely captures rogue drones using a coordinated net system. Computer vision and leader–follower control architecture enable synchronized enclosure, while integrated failsafes enhance system reliability. Validated through closed‐environment

Application of Concrete Segment Panels for Reduction of Torsional Vibration Responses of Girder Bridges

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2015
The dynamic flexural behaviour of railway bridges is influenced by the torsional behaviour, and the flexural response tends to be amplified as the flexural natural frequency (the 1st vibrational mode) and torsional frequency (the 2nd vibrational mode ...
