Impact of Strain in Free‐Standing PtSe2 in Scalable 2D MEMS
Strain tuning of 2D materials such as PtSe2 opens new opportunities for micro‐ and nanoelectromechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS). This study introduces a fabrication method for free‐standing, as‐grown thin‐film channels that bypass mechanical transfer, offering a scalable, universal platform for strain engineering.

Comparing hydrocracies in Morocco and South Africa: Water reform and bureaucratic restructuring in a neo-liberal context [PDF]
In both Morocco and South Africa, since at least the mid-20th century, water has been entrusted to powerful state bureaucracies embracing a 'hydraulic mission', what some authors have dubbed 'hydrocracies' (Molle, Mollinga and Worster, 2009). In Morocco,

A hierarchically structured hydrogel evaporator enables controlled decoupling of salt‐ion and water transport pathways for efficient solar desalination in hypersaline environments. Engineered radial and vertical channels direct salt away from the evaporative interface, enhancing water evaporation and ambient energy harvesting via a cold‐surface effect.
