Utilization of Hydrocarbons by Cladosporium resinae [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1973
Summary: Cladosporium resinae has been isolated from soil and air samples taken over a wide area in Africa, Australia and Europe (Parbery, 1969) and from fresh, estuarine and marine waters (Ahearn & Meyers, 1972). The organism's biology and its potential for causing malfunctions in aircraft jet fuel systems were reviewed recently by Parbery (1971).

Hidden Fungal Diversity of the Precious Mediterranean Red Coral Corallium rubrum

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
This study reveals diverse cultivable fungi associated with the red coral Corallium rubrum, highlighting both potentially beneficial and pathogenic species. These findings emphasize the biotechnological relevance and ecological impact of coral‐associated fungi, especially as climate change may increase disease risks.

Aeromycoflora in Outdoor Environment of Timisoara City (Romania)

open access: yesNotulae Scientia Biologicae, 2009
An aeromycological study to identify and quantify allergenic fungi and their fluctuations was conducted at Timisoara. The diversity of the aeromycoflora in this study, based on the recovery of fungal propagules by the volumetric sampling method was ...

Niche sharing reflects a poorly understood biodiversity phenomenon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Eucalyptus spp. are susceptible to a large number of foliar pathogens, some of which can cause serious defoliation and die-back. In this study, a single leaf spot on a Eucalyptus leaf collected in Madagascar revealed an unusual association of microfungi ...

Cladosporine A, a new indole diterpenoid alkaloid with antimicrobial activities from Cladosporium sp.

open access: yesNatural Product Research, 2019
Cladosporine A (1), a new indole diterpenoid alkaloid, was isolated from the extract of a fungal strain Cladosporium sp. JNU17DTH12-9-01. Its structure was elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis, and the absolute configurations were determined by

Dispersal in microbes: fungi in indoor air are dominated by outdoor air and show dispersal limitation at short distances. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The indoor microbiome is a complex system that is thought to depend on dispersal from the outdoor biome and the occupants' microbiome combined with selective pressures imposed by the occupants' behaviors and the building itself.

Severe Occupational Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis: A Case Series of Four Patients Requiring Lung Transplantation

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Industrial Medicine, Volume 69, Issue 5, Page 323-334, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) is an immune‐mediated interstitial lung disease triggered by repeated inhalation of organic or chemical antigens. Occupational exposures account for approximately 19% of all cases. Early diagnosis, identification of the responsible antigen(s), and immediate avoidance of exposure are crucial to prevent ...
