3.6 GHz Integrated Inverse Class-E Amplifier with Polar Modulation Capability
European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference, 2019This work presents an inverse class-E switching power amplifier with the capability of phase and amplitude modulation. Advantages of this amplifier topology, like a higher integrability caused by smaller inductors, compared to an conventional shunt-C ...

Class D and class E selectable power amplifier
INTELEC 2009 - 31st International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2009A switching power amplifier which can be operated as a class D amplifier and a class E amplifier is proposed. The proposed circuit can be operated as a high efficiency soft switching power amplifier at a high operating frequency and it also can be operated as a class D amplifier at a low operating frequency.

Computer control of a Class-E amplifier
International Journal of Electronics, 1988High frequency electrical power supplies used in many industrial applications have to be able to withstand appreciable variations in load impedance. This paper describes the use of a computer to control a Class-E amplifier power supply which is being developed for high frequency induction and dielectric heating applications.

New topology for Class E amplifiers
International Journal of Electronics, 2007A Class E RF amplifier, which can operate into any load conditions without need for other additional circuitry to protect transistors, is introduced. This is provided by the new topology, which is called an inductive clamp. Our topology incorporates inductive clamp circuitry to the basic Class E amplifier circuit and it has all the benefits of Class E ...

Class-E and inverse class-E switch-mode power amplifiers
Journal of Communications Technology and Electronics, 2012Circuits of class-E and inverse class-E (Einv) switch-mode power amplifiers (PAs) are systemized on the basis of the principle of duality. New PA circuits (four class-Einv PA circuits and one class-E PA circuit) are proposed. The design relationships for values of reactive LC components of PA shaping circuits are given.

Stability of generalized class E amplifiers
Proceedings of the 33rd Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002The circle theorem is used to prove that a generalized class E amplifier is exponentially stable. This suggests driving class E amplifiers with periodic forcing functions that have a period not necessarily equal to the switching period. Some interesting applications of these circuits include high-efficiency AC-AC power conversion. >

A class‐E CMOS RF power amplifier with cascaded class‐D driver amplifier
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2007AbstractA 800‐MHz power amplifier is designed using a 0.18‐μm RF CMOS process. The voltage‐combining method is used for power combining. A transmission line transformer on a printed circuit board (PCB) is designed as a power combiner. For the switching mode power amplifier, a cascaded class‐D driver amplifier is proposed using a feedback resistor and a

Feedthrough cancellation in a class E amplified polar transmitter
2007 18th European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design, 2007The purpose of this work is to study feedthrough cancellation methods available for a class E amplified polar transmitter. A mathematical feedthrough cancellation using measured S-parameters is presented. The results show a clear improvement to the nonlinear behaviour of a class E amplifier.

Optimization procedure of class E amplifiers using SPICE
Proceedings of the 2005 European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design, 2005., 2006Class E amplifiers are known as a switching type power amplifier and a good candidate for fully integrated CMOS transceivers which are used for Global System for Mobile Communication and Bluetooth. However, the design of class E amplifiers is difficult, because the passive elements and the device parameters of CMOS switch must be optimized so that the ...

Class-E CMOS power amplifiers for RF applications
Proceedings of the 2003 International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2003. ISCAS '03., 2003CMOS radio frequency class-E power amplifiers (PA) for GMSK/GFSK modulations have been designed and fabricated using 0.25/0.35/spl mu/m technologies. The operating frequencies are centred at 1.2GHz and 2.65GHz with 24-26dBm output power. Mode locking techniques are employed for both designs, in order to reduce the driving requirement.
