Protecting Personhood: A Classic Grounded Theory

open access: yesGrounded Theory Review: An International Journal
The importance of perceiving and considering patients as healthcare partners has been increasingly promoted. Healthcare systems around the world are now highly interested in patient engagement, participation, collaboration, and partnership.

The Hook: Getting your grounded theory research published

open access: yesGrounded Theory Review: An International Journal, 2009
I learned about the hook as a fledgling writer back in the late 70’s, and early 80s. I wrote about stepfamilies when almost nobody else did (Stern, 1978, 1982a, 1982b).

Theory of ground states for classical Heisenberg spin systems V

open access: yes, 2020
We formulate part V of a rigorous theory of ground states for classical, finite, Heisenberg spin systems. After recapitulating the central results of the parts I - IV previously published we extend the theory to the case where an involutary symmetry is present and the ground states can be distinguished according to their degree of mixing components of ...

Zinc‐Containing Bioactive Glass Programs Macrophage Polarization through Extracellular Traps Regulation for Enhanced Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc‐containing bioactive glass (ZnBG) promotes diabetic wound healing by regulating macrophage extracellular traps (METs). Specifically, ZnBG reduces oxidative stress and inhibits the PAD4 and NLRP3/caspase‐1/GSDMD signaling pathways, thereby suppressing MET formation.

A Novice Researcher’s First Walk Through the Maze of Grounded Theory: Rationalization for Classical Grounded Theory

open access: yesGrounded Theory Review: An International Journal, 2013
Being new to grounded theory the onus to understand the methodology and the various versions can be daunting. Learning and understanding the differences between grounded theories methodologies can be as much a learning of one’s own research philosophy ...

Nanotherapies for Atherosclerosis: Targeting, Catalysis, and Energy Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Atherosclerosis management is hindered by poor drug targeting and plaque heterogeneity. Nanotechnology overcomes these barriers via three core strategies: (1) target‐engineered nanocarriers that achieve lesion‐specific precision via ligand modification, biomimetic camouflage, stimuli‐responsive release, and self‐propelling nanomotors; (2) catalytic ...

Learning Classic Grounded Theory: An Account of the Journey and Advice for New Researchers

open access: yesGrounded Theory Review: An International Journal, 2009
Graduate students who employ CGT for their theses or dissertations predominantly learn the methodology on their own. As a distinct methodology, CGT is challenging to employ.

Grounded theory, a kvalitatív kutatás klasszikus mérföldköve (Grounded theory, the classic milestone of qualitative research) [PDF]

Purpose‐Adaptable Reinforced 3D Hyaluronic‐Acid Based Platform to Study Pathomechanisms of the Central Nervous System

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Platform system to create biofabricated 3D spinal cord tissue models: Combining high resolution PCL fiber placement, a customized, hyaluronic acid‐based hydrogel, two cell types (spinal cord neurons and astrocytes) together with three distinct laminin isoforms allow the formation of functional cell–cell network interactions.

The History of Grounded Theory based on Quantitative Methodology

open access: yesGrounded Theory Review: An International Journal, 2007
The idea for a grounded theory methodology came from the 1950's when Lazarsfeld2 started to do methodology of quantitative studies. The methodology he created was not that of the initial procedures applied to quantitative studies but rather trying to ...
