In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

The Evolutionary History of the Extinct Baltic Sea Harp Seal Population
The now‐extinct harp seal population that inhabited the Baltic Sea from the Mesolithic to the Iron Age is an enigma. It occurred outside the species' contemporary Arctic range, likely deviated from typical harp seal migratory behaviour, and experienced ...

Forging History: Spade-Shaped Currency Bars, History and Identity in Central Norrland
In central Norrland a large number of spade-shaped currency bars have been recovered. Currency bars have been produced since the introduction of iron technology in the late pre-Roman Iron Age, which roughly coincides with the introduction of agriculture.

Spin Glass-like Phase below ~ 210 K in Magnetoelectric Gallium Ferrite
In this letter we show the presence of a spin-glass like phase in single crystals of magnetoelectric gallium ferrite (GaFeO3) below ~210 K via temperature dependent ac and dc magnetization studies.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Analytical treatment of stabilization [PDF]
We present a summarizing account of a series of investigations whose central topic is to address the question whether atomic stabilization exists in an analytical way. We provide new aspects on several issues of the matter in the theoretical context when

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
