Ultrafast Charge Carrier Dynamics in Layered CuO‐TiO2 Heterostructure via Time‐Resolved Soft X‐Ray Absorption Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the carrier dynamics in the layered CuO∖TiO2 heterostructure. ABSTRACT Understanding the ultrafast carrier dynamics at the p‐n heterojunctions is indispensable for designing efficient photocatalysts. In this work, we used element‐specific time‐resolved soft X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (tr‐XAS) to investigate the ultrafast ...

Parallel Electrical Integration of Photo Bio Electrochemical Systems (photo‐BESs): Performance Gains and Load Dependency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Parallel wiring of bioelectrochemical devices with conventional generators unexpectedly boosts output. A biophotovoltaic paired with a solar cell delivers up to 50% more power at low loads than their separate contributions; a plant microbial fuel cell shows similar current gains.

Elastomers Combining Damping Efficiency With Rapid Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Double network granular elastomers (DNGEs) combine high energy dissipation under both cyclic loading and high impact with rapid shape recovery. 3D printing enables the production of complex, customizable structures with tailored performance. Recyclable DNGEs retain their properties over multiple recycling cycles.
