Clear aligner therapy versus conventional brackets: Oral impacts over time

open access: yesDental Research Journal
ABSTRACT Background: The objective is to compare the impact of clear aligner treatment (CAT) versus conventional fixed appliance treatment (FAT) on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) among adults at five-time points: pretreatment (T0), 1 week (T1), 1 month after (T2), and 6 months after (T3) treatment ...

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Wear volumes of flowable and sculptable resin composite attachments and their correlation with retentive force of clear aligners: a laboratory study

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Background Aligner attachment integrity is important for clear aligner retention and overall treatment efficacy. This study aimed to evaluate the wear volume of clear aligner attachments and the retentive force change of clear aligners over a simulated ...

The Effects of Light and Vibration on the Correction of Lower Incisor Crowding with Aligners

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Orthodontics
Objective: To compare the effects of low-frequency vibration (LFV), photobiomodulation (PBM), and their combination (HOT) on the rate of mandibular incisor alignment during clear aligner therapy.

Neoadjuvant anti-PD-1 immunotherapy promotes a survival benefit with intratumoral and systemic immune responses in recurrent glioblastoma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Glioblastoma is the most common primary malignant brain tumor in adults and is associated with poor survival. The Ivy Foundation Early Phase Clinical Trials Consortium conducted a randomized, multi-institution clinical trial to evaluate immune responses ...

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Biomechanical Response To Crown-Root Angular In Clear Aligner Therapy

open access: yesInternational Dental Journal
Aim or purpose: The maxillary canine plays a critical biomechanical role in maintaining archform integrity and functional occlusion. The accuracy of clear aligners (CA) for canine movement depends on anatomical factors, particularly the crown-root angle ...

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...
