Radiological evaluation of biomarkers for renal cell carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Role of MRI DWI sequences in the evaluation of early response to neo- angiogenesis inhibitors in metastatic renal cell carcinoma Purpose: Angiogenesis inhibitors have a potential role in treating metastatic renal cell carcinoma, but it is still not ...

TriCON: A Carbon‐Based Triple‐Modal Nanoplatform for Pancreatic Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed TriCON, a triple‐modality nanotherapeutic platform, to treat pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) by synergizing gene editing, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. TriCON utilizes CRISPR/Cas9 to target the poliovirus receptor (PVR), combined with nano‐encapsulated doxorubicin and checkpoint blockade. This approach achieved significant tumor

L1-CAM expression in ccRCC correlates with shorter patients survival times and confers chemoresistance in renal cell carcinoma cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Conflicting data exist about the expression of L1 cell adhesion molecule (L1-CAM) in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). To determine the clinical usefulness of L1-CAM as a therapeutic or prognostic marker molecule in renal cancer patients, we ...

GLUL Confers Perivascular Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts With Pro‐Angiogenic Capacity to Promote Glioma Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the proposed model. Primary CAFs are isolated from fresh human GBM specimens according to established protocols. GLUL is essential for pro‐angiogenic capacity of CAFs through its impact on the PI3K/AKT pathway. GLUL enhances the pro‐angiogenic capacity of CAFs, driving aberrant tumor vasculature that fuels tumor growth ...

ERM Inhibition Confers Ferroptosis Resistance through ROS‐Induced NRF2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ERM inhibition disrupts ERM‐actin interactions, elevating ROS and triggering KEAP1 degradation, which stabilizes and activates NRF2. Nuclear NRF2 induces cytoprotective genes, notably HMOX1, enhancing redox buffering and suppressing lipid peroxidation to resist erastin‐induced ferroptosis.
