Clearance of proteoglycan from joint cavities. [PDF]
The rate of loss from the synovial cavity of proteoglycan subunit, a major constituent of cartilage, has been measured in rabbits with and without experimental arthritis. The effect of aggregation between proteoglycan and hyaluronic acid upon the rate of elimination has also been investigated.

POLYCENTRIC EXOPROSTHETIC KNEE JOINTS – EXTENT OF SHORTENING DURING SWING PHASE
BACKGROUND: An often assumed advantage of polycentric knee joints compared to monocentric ones is the improved ground clearance during swing phase due to the geometric shortening of the lower leg segment (LLS).

3D Formulation for Revolute Clearance Joints [PDF]
In this work, a general and comprehensive methodology for the modeling and analysis of spatial multibody systems with revolute clearance joints is presented. The proposed formulation considers the journal and the bearing elements as two cylindrical colliding bodies.

In this paper, we present a novel design framework to connect linkage synthesis with dynamics performance of the linkage. The aim of the design framework is to improve the dynamics performance of the mechanism through linkage design, instead of improving

Dynamics of Multibody Systems With Spherical Clearance Joints [PDF]
This work deals with a methodology to assess the influence of the spherical clearance joints in spatial multibody systems. The methodology is based on the Cartesian coordinates, with the dynamics of the joint elements modeled as impacting bodies and controlled by contact forces. The impacts and contacts are described by a continuous contact force model

Dynamic Response of Multibody Systems with Multiple Clearance Joints [PDF]
A general methodology for the dynamic modeling and analysis of planar multibody systems with multiple clearance joints is presented. The inter-connecting bodies that constitute a real physical mechanical joint are modeled as colliding components, whose dynamic behavior is influenced by the geometric, physical and mechanical properties of the contacting
