Misperception of Body Weight After Childhood Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Misperception of body weight can negatively impact the weight management efforts of childhood cancer survivors (CCSs). Both being overweight or underweight are associated with chronic health conditions commonly observed in CCS; therefore, accurate weight perception is critical for reducing long‐term health risks.

An empirical model to estimate ultraviolet erythemal transmissivity [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2009
An empirical model to estimate the solar ultraviolet erythemal irradiance (UVER) for all-weather conditions is presented. This model proposes a power expression with the UV transmissivity as a dependent variable, and the slant ozone column and the ...

Identification of Clear-sky Conditions with the Direct Clearness Index

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science
Abstract The direct clearness index (DrCI), defined as the ratio of direct solar irradiance (R d ) to extraterrestrial irradiance (R a ), is proposed as an effective indicator for identifying clear-sky or cloud-free conditions.

Forecasting the Class of Daily Clearness Index for PV Applications

open access: yesProceedings of the 15th International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics, 2018
This paper deals with the problem of forecasting the class of the daily clearness index which can be relevant for PV applications. A large number of solar stations, publicly available, was processed by using five different approaches, namely, the feed-forward neural networks, the Hidden Markov models, the Naive-Bayes models, the Surrogate models and ...

Ultraviolet Index in the city of Puno for clear skies

open access: yes, 2017

Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas in Children and Adolescents: Expert Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Solid pseudopapillary neoplasm of the pancreas (SPN) is a rare low‐grade malignant exocrine pancreatic tumor, mostly discovered during the second decade of life in females, with a very good prognosis, provided microscopically complete surgical excision is achieved.

Measurement of global and direct normal solar energy radiation in Seri Iskandar and comparison with other cities of Malaysia

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2020
Potential solar data are an essential tool for successful solar design and application. However, because of the limited availability of solar radiation stations, spatial resolution is affected whenever an attempt to construct a solar radiation map is ...

Bridging the Gap in Neuroblastoma Care: Consensus‐Based Statements With Recommendations for Improved Patient and Caregiver Experiences

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neuroblastoma's complex, heterogeneous biology poses significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, often requiring caregivers to absorb complex information and participate in time‐sensitive decisions. However, caregivers often feel unprepared to evaluate options.

Admixture Mapping Reveals Candidate Regions for Methotrexate Neurotoxicity Susceptibility: A Reducing Disparities in Acute Leukemia Consortium Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neurotoxicity is a rare, often dose‐limiting adverse effect of methotrexate (MTX) therapy that disproportionally affects Latino children. Factors contributing to the observed disparity are not well understood. This study leveraged admixture mapping to identify genetic regions associated with MTX‐related neurotoxicity susceptibility ...

Distribution of hourly variability index of sky clearness

open access: yesTanzania Journal of Science, 2005
Clouds affect the values of insolation for solar technology and other applications. To detect the presence of variability in the sky clearness, an hourly variability index (p3) is calculated. The present study examined the frequency distribution of this variable as a tool for assessing the utilizability of solar radiation at a site.
