Interplay between RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures in gene regulation
Methodological advances in mapping transcriptome‐wide RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures have started to uncover the potential of RNP conformations in gene regulation. Competing RNA–RNA, RNA‐protein and protein–protein interactions shape the compaction and function of RNPs throughout their lifetime and may provide novel therapeutic targets in ...

Biosynthesis of histone messenger RNA employs a specific 3' end endonuclease
Replication-dependent (RD) core histone mRNA produced during S-phase is the only known metazoan protein-coding mRNA presenting a 3' stem-loop instead of the otherwise universal polyA tail.

Background The human myxovirus resistance 2 (Mx2/MxB) protein was originally found to regulate cytoplasmic-nuclear transport but was recently reported to restrict HIV-1 replication by binding to HIV-1 capsid (CA), preventing uncoating, the nuclear import

Elevated exogenous palmitic acid promotes the S‐palmitoylation of SRPK1 in endothelial cells, a dynamic process governed by ZDHHC24 and APT1. This post‐translational modification strengthens the interaction between SRPK1 and the E3 ubiquitin ligase MIB1, thereby facilitating the proteasomal degradation of SRPK1.

Connexin 26 Functions as a Direct Transcriptional Regulator During the Cochlea Development
Connexin26 can not only form intercellular channels that mediate rapid communication on the cell membrane, but also enter the nucleus as a transcription factor to directly regulate the transcription of nuclear genes. In the developing cochlea, Cx26 can control the maturation of the molecular scissor ADAM10 by regulating the transcription of TspanC8 ...

Cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor 1 (CPSF1), a member of CPSF complex, has been reported to play a key role in pre-mRNA 3'-end formation, but its possible role in ovarian cancer remains unclear. In the present study, we found the mRNA level of CPSF1 was overexpressed in ovarian cancer tissues using Oncomine Cancer Microarray database ...
