Highly Sensitive Spatial Host‐Microbiome Transcriptomics in FFPE Tissues via Iterative Hydrogel Expansion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ex‐spRandom is a spatial transcriptomics platform that synergizes random‐primed chemistry with iterative hydrogel expansion. By physically decrowding the dense FFPE matrix, this scalable technology shatters the traditional resolution‐sensitivity barrier.

A Micropeptide Component of the OGDH Complex Modulates ATP Production in the TCA Cycle

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified a mitochondrial micropeptide encoded by a non‐canonical open reading frame (alt‐ORF) within the CTSB gene. This micropeptide named APPM (ATP production‐promoting micropeptide) is a novel component of the OGDHc complex in the TCA cycle. APPM localizes to the inner mitochondrial membrane and directly binds to OGDH, the E1 subunit of

Theorizing power and agency in state-initiated municipal climate change adaptation: integrating reflexive capacity into adaptive capacity

open access: yesGeographica Helvetica
Abstract. Based on a review of existing research on adaptive capacity, we identify a research gap in theorizing institutions, power structures, and agency in municipal climate change adaptation processes. Drawing on sociological institutionalism, governmentality, and communicative planning theory, we use post-structuralist concepts of power to to ...

China's Low‐Carbon Energy Transition Over the Past Two Decades: Experiences and Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
China's low‐carbon energy transition features a brief decline and subsequent rebound in coal consumption, alongside the rapid expansion of renewable energy. This study develops a stage‐based analytical framework to explain this evolution from the perspectives of economic development, energy security, and environmental sustainability, revealing how ...

Climate change adaptation and the rental sector [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The research employed an asset-based approach to understanding the capacities, assets and skills which tenants, landlords and housing managers bring to climate change adaptation. The project also took a pro-poor approach focusing on the adaptive capacity

An Effector TaCRVP From Tuta Absoluta Oral Secretion Impairs H2O2‐Mediated Plant Defense by Targeting Tomato SlCAT2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Tuta absoluta salivary effector TaCRVP subverts tomato immunity by hijacking host catalase SlCAT2. Through a sophisticated dual mechanism, TaCRVP simultaneously promotes SlCAT2 tetramerization for activation and blocks its SlAdBiL‐mediated degradation for stabilization.

Climate related hazards and changes in adaptive capacity

open access: yes, 2021
This thesis aims to explore whether and how the frequency and severity of climate-related hazards are associated with changes in adaptive capacity. Despite increased hazard frequency and severity in the world, it is still contested whether hazard frequency and severity are associated with changes in adaptive capacity, often referred to as the ...

Atmospheric Water Harvesting Through Polymer Hydrogel Sorbents: Materials Chemistry, Design Strategies, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polymer‐based hydrogels have emerged as promising materials for atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) due to their high water affinity, tunable network structure, and excellent moisture adsorption‐desorption performance. Functional hydrogel systems enable efficient water capture and controlled release under low‐energy conditions, offering a sustainable ...
