International Journal of Climatology, Volume 45, Issue 13, 15 November 2025.The study highlights the East Atlantic (EA) pattern's dominant role in shaping early 20th‐century winter climate variability in Western Europe, surpassing the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO). An intensified Icelandic Low and Azores High are better captured by EA's variability and altered precipitation patterns, particularly over the Iberian Peninsula.
