Local Visible‐Photocatalytic Production of Hydrogen and Warm Heat for Combination Treatment of Pressure Ulcer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel concept of visible‐photocatalytic hydrogen/warm heat production is proposed for combination treatment of pressure ulcer (PU), and develop a new kind of palladium nanodots‐deposited hydrogen‐doped titanium dioxide nanorods encapsulating hydorgel dressing to receive a high outcome of PU treatment by hydrogen/warm heat synergistically improving ...

ExplORRNet: An interactive web tool to explore stage-wise miRNA expression profiles and their interactions with mRNA and lncRNA in human breast and gynecological cancers

open access: yesNon-coding RNA Research
Background: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are key regulators of gene expression that have been implicated in gynecological and breast cancers. Understanding the cancer stage-wise expression patterns of miRNAs and their interactions with other RNA molecules in ...

PIM1 Attenuates Innate Immunity to Foster Coronavirus Replication through Ubiquitin Ligase β‐TrCP‐Mediated IFNAR1 Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hijacking Host Kinase PIM1: A β‐Coronavirus (OC43) strategy to degrade IFNAR1 and evade antiviral immunity. Human β‐coronaviruses (OC43) exploit the proto‐oncoprotein PIM1 kinase to sabotage innate immunity. Viral RNA/proteins upregulate PIM1, which phosphorylates E3 ligase β‐TrCP1.

Controlling Release Kinetics of an Adjuvant from a Depot Improves the Efficacy of Local Immunotherapy in Metastatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We show that intratumoral release of an immunotherapy—CpG —can be tuned with molecular precision by complexing it to an elastin‐like polypeptide (ELP). Injecting ELP‐CpG and an excipient ELP into tumors drives thermally‐triggered phase separation into a micro‐scale “sponge” depot that releases CpG at rates depending on the ELP composition, which ...

Don\u27t Argue with the Members [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Mel Pollner regularly cautioned researchers not to argue with the members of settings under consideration. He warned against substituting the researcher’s meaning for the meanings of those being studied.

Teaching Clinical Competence

open access: yesPragmatic Case Studies in Psychotherapy, 2007
This Commentary is written from my experience as a teacher of Emily Liu in a graduate clinical psychology course focusing on the training of psychotherapy skills. Liu took the class simultaneous to seeing the case of TC, and she utilized the class to develop her approach to the case, including conceptualization and formulation; the processing of her ...

EFTUD2 Regulates Cortical Morphogenesis via Modulation of Caspase‐3 and Aifm1 Splicing Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
EFTUD2, a spliceosomal GTPase linked to MFDM, regulates cortical development through apoptotic control. Conditional Eftud2 knockout in murine neural stem cells induces microcephaly and cortical disorganization, while pathogenic variants drive neuronal loss.
