Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Urine Pregnancy Tests Clinical Specificity Studies
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1987The performance of six recently introduced highly sensitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent (ELISA) urine pregnancy test reagent kits was evaluated for false positive results using 100 male and 100 postmenopausal female urine specimens and the findings were compared with those of a qualitative radioimmunoassay (RIA) procedure.

Is there clinical benefit to routine enzyme testing of patients on statins?
Expert Opinion on Drug Safety, 2011Statin-treated patients undergo frequent laboratory tests. This study evaluated the clinical impact of abnormal liver or muscle enzyme results. This clinical process evaluation study took place in six primary care clinics in Israel. Four hundred and eight patients (average age 63.8 ± 10.9 years) undergoing statin treatment, with at least one enzyme ...

The methods of immune enzyme assay (MIEA) and of lanthanide immunofluorescence analysis (LIFA) were used to work out the test systems for the detection (in blood serum of patients) of specific IgM IgG antibodies to the B. burgdorferi spirochete--a causative agent of ixodic borrelioses.

Establishing a simple and effective mutation screening method is one of the most compelling problems with applying genetic diagnosis to clinical use. Because there is no reliable and inexpensive screening system, amplifying by PCR and performing direct sequencing of every coding exon is the gold standard strategy even today.

Noninvasive tests for Helicobacter pylori are increasingly used. Recently, an enzyme immunoassay for H. pylori detection in feces has been put on the market. Aim of this multicenter study was to evaluate the usefulness of this novel test as a predictor of H. pylori status in the pretreatment setting.
