Factors associated with serious adverse event following immunization: a real-world analysis of the vaccine adverse event reporting system 2025

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
Background and aimsWhile vaccination is a vital and cost-effective public health tool, a small fraction of recipients experience serious adverse events (SAEs) that impose a profound clinical and systemic burden.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) Frequencies and 4-loci HLA Haplotype Frequencies in Southern Thailand

open access: yesJournal of Health Science and Medical Research (JHSMR)
Objective: To determine the antigen and haplotype frequencies of human leukocyte antigen-A (HLA-A), -B, -DRB1, and -DQB1 in southern Thailand. Material and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed HLA typing data from patients treated at Songklanagarind ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

A context-aware interpretive framework for lymphocyte immunophenotyping by flow cytometry

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundFlow cytometry–based immunophenotyping is a powerful tool in clinical and translational immunology; however, the interpretation of lymphocyte immunophenotype results remains incomplete, despite extensive methodological standardization.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Enhanced neoepitope-specific immunity following neoadjuvant PD-L1 and TGF-β blockade in HPV-unrelated head and neck cancer

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Investigation, 2023
BACKGROUND Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma not associated with HPV (HPV-unrelated HNSCC) is associated with a high rate of recurrence and poor survival.METHODS We conducted a clinical trial in 14 patients with newly diagnosed HPV-unrelated HNSCC to

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.
